Crystal City’s signature wine and food tasting event, Sip and Salsa, boasts the region’s largest inside the beltway, outdoor wine festival with the ease of safe and responsible transit access. Sip and Salsa brings delicious wines from Spain, Portugal, and Argentina together with food tastes from restaurants in Crystal City and the region. Live latin jazz, wine education from the Washington Wine Academy, and Salsa from Columbia Pike’s Salsa Room round out the action for an affordable afternoon outdoors.
Tickets cost $20 and include all wine and food tastes. $10 designated driver tickets are available and include all food tastes.
The Crystal City Metro station will be closed this weekend during the Sip & Salsa event. WMATA will, however, be operating regular local buses from Pentagon City Station to Crystal City Station and shouldn’t cause too much of a delay. For a complete summary of track work for this weekend, click here. Alternatives include ample free parking (please designate a driver), a number of Capital Bikeshare stations, and UBER DC who has agreed to offer new users a free ride up to $20 if you sign up with promo code SIPANDSALSA. Visit http://uber.com/go/sipandsalsa to sign up, and your first uberX, black car or SUV ride is free up to $20. The Uber team will also be onsite at the Sip & Salsa to help with wine pouring and to answer any questions you might have. And you can always feel free to send them an email for help at firstname.lastname@example.org.
